Plateau Retreats

Adventure Site - Packing List

  1. A group enjoys the VistaA permission and authorization form is required for each person under the age of 18 years who will be participating in your event. This form must be completed and signed by a parent or legal guardian. These forms are to be kept by the retreat leader (they do not have to be handed into the Plateau office).
  2. You will need to have a vehicle available to provide transportation to the hospital in case of injury or illness. A nurse is not on site during the retreat season. A first-aid kit should be provided by the guest group. (Pocono Plateau does not provide first-aid supplies.)
  3. This is a rustic camping area. Guests must provide sleeping bag and sleeping pad or air mattress, if desired. Please note that there are no cots or mattresses in the tents. The log cabins, however, do have bunkbeds and mattresses. Guests must provide flashlights/lanterns and fuel, all personal items and toiletries, food and dishes, pots and pans, utensils, etc., cleaning supplies including trash bags, camp stove and fuel, coolers, water carriers, etc. (The Plateau will have the bathroom stocked with toilet paper.) Please bear in mind that it can be quite cool at night even during the warm weather months.
  4. You will need to bring all program supplies: paper, pens and pencils, craft supplies, etc.
  5. Most group leaders discourage bringing radios, tape players, etc. since this is an individual's opportunity to "get away from it all."
