Summer Staff
Paid staff positions are available for the summer. As a Pocono Plateau employee, you'll receive: Faith & Renewal; Fun & Fellowship; Room & Board; Training & Experience; and a Competitive Salary.

Food Service
- Main Site Assistant Cook - In a leadership role, assist the Head Cook with food preparation, serving and clean up at the Main Site Kitchen. Supports kitchen staff coordination and leads food service in the absence of the Head cook.
- Main Site Kitchen Assistants - Assist in food preparation, serving of meals, washing dishes and cleaning up after each meal. Assist with general food service tasks.
- Hydro-Ceramic Engineers (Dishwashers) - Responsible for cleaning the dishes after meals and the upkeep of the dishwashing station. Assists with general food service tasks.
- Adventure Site Assistant Cook - In a leadership role, assist the Head Cook with food preparation, serving and clean up at the Adventure Lodge. Assists in Main Site kitchen food prep. Supervises the Adventure Site Assistant.
- Main Site Kitchen Assistants - Assist in food preparation, serving of meals, washing dishes and cleaning up after each meal at the Adventure Site. Assist with general food service tasks at Main Site.
Maintenance
- Maintenance Assistants - Assist in all maintenance responsibilities including grounds keeping, minor building repairs, selected maintenance/improvement projects, and the delivery of services with the camp program.
- Adventure Site Maintenance - In a leadership role, maintains the needs of the Adventure Site grounds and facilities. Assists the Adventure Site Assistant Cook with the serving and clean up of the Adventure Lodge meals.
Program
- Program Leadership Staff - Provides leadership of program activities such as archery, nature, games, adventure challenge programs (ropes courses), music, etc. Possibility of spending some weeks counseling - residing with and leading small camper groups in daily living activities including Bible studies.
- Head Lifeguard / Program Leadership Staff - Oversees waterfront operations and provides safety for swimming and boating. Supervises the lifeguard staff. Assists in program leadership of activities such as canoeing, boating, games, adventure programs (ropes), music, etc..
- Lifeguard / Program Leadership Staff - Provides waterfront safety for swimming and boating. Assists in program leadership of activities such as canoeing, boating, games, adventure programs (ropes), music, etc.
- Crafts Director / Program Leadership Staff - Directs the craft program and is responsible for organizing, inventorying, and ordering needed supplies, and instructing campers in craft projects and activities. Assists in program leadership of other camp activities (games, music) as available.
- Photographers / Program Leadership Staff - Maintains the summer journal and summer photo gallery on the Plateau’s web site. Responsibilities include writing, designing, and posting a daily journal; shooting, organizing, storing and posting all photos (in digital format); care and maintenance of the camp’s digital camera. Will alternate with other photographer in leadership of program activities such as archery, nature, games, adventure programs (ropes), music, etc.
General Responsibilities of all Staff
- Joyfully and cooperatively complete other duties as assigned for/with the camp & retreat minstries of the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference - UMC at Pocono Plateau.
- Witness their personal and corporate faith commitment to Jesus Christ.
- Full participation in all aspects of the camping program and support services as directed.
- Treat all campers, guests and staff (volunteer and paid) without regard to any form of discrimination such as race, color, national origin, gender, and religious orientation.
STAFF ARE EXPECTED TO WORK THE ENTIRE SUMMER.
