Safety is a key priority.  Pocono Plateau is accredited every three years by the American Camp Association (ACA) which evaluates safety and best practices in over two hundred key areas of the camping program.

  • Employees and volunteers undergo background checks.
  • Summer camp staff training includes CPR/AED certification.
  • Lifeguards are certified in lifeguarding. first aid, professional CPR/AED, and underwater search & rescue.
  • Two registered nurses (RN's) are on duty at all times during summer camp.
  • Ropes courses are inspected every year by an Association for Challenge Course Technology certified company.
  • Each ropes facilitator is trained by our certified resident Program Manager.

Retreat Groups are responsible for providing first aid care and supplies to their members.  

Pocono Plateau is also a member of the Christian Camp and Conference Association.  CCCA is a resource that enables Pocono Plateau to excel to the highest standards of camp and retreat ministry.
